My Walk With Jesus: Teen Releases Devotional Bible, Eight Years in the Making, to Help Children Battling Cancer Walk Side-by-Side with the Lord

 

Compiled by Jenna Sue Bennett, ‘My Walk With Jesus: Devotional Bible’ brings together thirty-one inspirational devotions, each written from the heart of a child living with cancer. The only book of its kind in the world, Bennett’s powerful volume is awash with promises from Jesus in scripture to show sick children how His love will carry them through all of their hardest times. But this isn’t a hastily thrown-together project: Bennett first put pen to paper eight years ago, aged only ten, to fulfill a promise to her Aunt Kimmie; who found her own doors to Heaven, after her courageous battle with lung cancer.

Cleveland, NC – When Jenna Sue Bennett was only ten years-old, she witnessed something completely foreign; the degradation of her Aunt Kimmie whose life was being cut short by aggressive lung cancer. While Aunt Kimmie knew her fate, she never lost hope in Jesus’ ability to give her strength, solidified by the daily devotionals she read to her children at bed time. Jenna Sue made her a promise, that she would create her own book of devotionals aimed specifically at children battling their own sickness.

 

This promise turned into passion; an eight-year-long writing project that is finally being released as ‘My Walk With Jesus: Devotional Bible’.

Each devotion is written from the heart of a child— applying promises from Jesus in scripture, to help them through the hard times in their lives. Children will also learn to see Jesus in a new way, as their very best friend. He loves them more than they could ever imagine, and He will carry them through every challenge they face. This book will remind children how Jesus is walking with them, and will never, ever leave their side…

 

“When my Aunt Kimmie was diagnosed with stage-four lung cancer, my life was turned upside-down. I had never experienced anything like it before, and initially felt very helpless,” explains Jenna Sue. “But what amazed us all is that Aunt Kimmie never lost faith; she still remained true to Jesus and continued her role as a spiritual pillar for her entire family. When I shared with her my dream of writing a book for children with cancer, she told me to pursue it with all of my heart and never give up. I’m so proud to have spent the last eight years keeping that promise, and am now in a position to release what I have created.”

 

Continuing, “But this is so much more than a book. The entire project is about the message, that Jesus and His love will carry children through their hardest times, no matter how scared they are and no matter how uncertain they are about the future. To that end, we are going to be using proceeds from each sale to re-invest in printing/shipping and ensure that the book is delivered to children’s hospitals across the country.”

About the Author:

Jenna Sue Bennett is blessed with a desire in her heart to write. At the age of ten, she began writing My Walk With Jesus: Devotional Bible, completing it before her eighteenth birthday. She is self-taught in writing, designing photo illustrations with Photoshop, layout design, website design, and more… as she strongly desired to complete the details of the book on her own. Her vision was to ensure that it would inspire and encourage many precious children. She will be using profits from each book to share it with children around the world. It is a dream come true for her to use her writing gift to share Jesus’ love with children facing cancer, and with their families.

 

In her free time, Jenna enjoys spending time with her loving parents, and her sweet and silly little brother. Boating, camping, fishing, and taking long sunset walks are some of her favorite ways to spend time with her family.
